I remember back to Michael Brown,
though it now seems so damn long ago,
He was just minding his own business,
ran afoul of a cop’s ego.
Murdered in cold blood for being black,
the man had even thrown up his hands,
such a massive injustice— wait, what?
He physically assaulted the officer?
He was charging in again when
he was shot?
He’d still be alive if he hadn’t
been stupid?
Huh…well, that means all those
riots in Ferguson were based on
a lie.

Well, I also remember old George Floyd,
suffocated by renegade cop,
I don’t understand how a person
can end up dead from a routine stop.
They chose to target him for his skin,
they had no problem leaving him dead,
such a massive evil that— wait, what?
He didn’t die of suffocation?
It was a heart attack brought on by
drugs in his system?
He was strung out of Fentanyl?
The cop was a dick but didn’t actually
cause his death?
Huh…so all these months of rioting,
thirty people dead, that was all
based on a lie?

But we have to look ad Jacob Blake
who was just trying to break up a fight,
all shot up by the local police,
the wouldn’t have done so were he white.
They broke out the excessive violence
because they judge the man by his shade,
all driven by deep bigotry— wait, what?
He as in a woman’s house illegally?
He had taken her car keys?
He had a history of violent assaults
and rape?
And several felony warrants sworn out?
And looked like he was going for a weapon?
Huh…so all the violence at Kinosha,
that was all based on a lie?

But at last we have a media
that is always anxious for a scoop,
they’ll figure what’s really happening,
they will bring the people the truth—
wait, what?  They broadcast these lies?
Didn’t bother to do any digging?
Openly side with the rioters?
Declare it’s ‘peaceful protect?’
They hide it all form the people?
Huh…so they might actually have
blood on their hands?

At least there’s a major party that
always stands up for the side of peace,
stood against all the recent conflicts
that have embroiled the middle east.
The Democrats are the pacifists,
they’ll bring sanity back— wait, what?
They’re cheerleading violent rioters?
Some have even joined in?
They’re defunding cops and tossing
them out to the mob?
Their D.A.s won’t prosecute the
rioters?  They just release them?
They’re demonizing folks with pale skin?
Huh…so all the tolerance and peace,
that was all a lie?

Huh.
