Poem
We have no control over the passage of time, but much flexibility with our own time. On and on, time goes and flows with no one it knows and stops at the command of ONE. Yet it affects everything and everybody, granting each one equal amounts of 24 hours a day until our time runs out. I know that, 'runs out', is hard to visualize, but there is a reality that for each of us, time, as we currently know it, will be no more. But presently, as I think of us rather tenderly, I see pauses in the hour glass which causes me clearer views as the sand dances to the beat of time. I have also observed that time has seasons, giving us windows of opportunity, time zones, and categories for good reasons. You see, my love, over our 50 years together, there was hard work, kids, and good relationships. Please understand beloved that I'm not saying that those experiences in those years were trivial, and I'm not saying that we should have turned left in stead of right at the intersection of 'This Way and That Way'. What I'm saying is that we have entered a whole new time zone. I'm also saying that, admittedly, along the way, we took too little time for us to escape and vacate, to conversate and recreate. Over the years, there was plenty of time for church, for people, for work, for fears and tears. Unfortunately, my dear, we've known too many whose demise preceded their opened eyes. So many were pushed along in the dark by life through the time tunnel, never understanding the real meaning of life. The time tunnel is always going faster than it seems, and so often we fail to see the signs. But Fortunately, my dear wife, we have come to realize in very practical ways that to everything there is a time and a season. We are also fortunate that in the midst of all our hustles and bustles, we discovered there is every reason to believe that there is also 'a time for us'. So honey, here we are, blessed with the treasure of time. Should we spend the rest of our days during more of the same? There's got to be more for us than chit-chatting about our aches and pains. Should we spend more time by snoozing, smooching, or by cruising? Should we depart to places unknown, or not? Should we drive in the slow or the fast lane, or just hop a bus, board a train, or catch a plane? Slow or fast, we are free at last. Either way is fine with me my love. All that matters is that we get there, because it's a time for us. 081620PSCtest, A Time For Us, JCB Burl. 2P
