Poem
Frost leaves my heart feeling cold and clammy, like a icicle hanging down from a gutter, dripping liquid sparkles as the sunlight softens the edges of my feelings and frees my thoughts to believe in the promise of the coming Spring when I can remember the snow and ice with assurance that I have survived the challenges of a dreary Winter’s claim on my dreams. Silvery shimmers Sing sweet dreams to the freezing Feelings caress souls Earnest hopes caress my naked skin with a comforting embrace, whispering faith in the spirit who yearns to be at peace with God, who sends down this delicious, mysterious moment from the heights of His heavenly abode, where angels harmonize with the light of our Creator and remind us all why we’ve been given this amazing season, the Spring who changes darkness to light and imagines the bright inspiration that comes from sharing this fresh, new moment with flowers, trees and birds of praise. Soft rays of sunlight Breathe miracles of kindness Caress the spirit Ancient clouds soothe the heart who reflects on the moments of wonder where imagination inspires the dance of joy between the wind’s breathe and the azure skies who long to form shadowy hues of gentleness and calm which encourages the heart to soar with robins and shine sweet serenity into the moments of praise created by prayers from souls who know the elation begotten by vivid hues of crimson red and brushed bronze, gold and pastel pinks, all the colors of rainbow fantasies found in a touch from Summer. Hues of rich amber Nature’s heart sings and dances Touching gentle hopes Truth shines it’s graceful, weightless light into the bright clandestine moments of emerald pine, laurel and birch, imprisoning the enigmatic reveries of those who share this tender breathe of desire with wildly painted leaves – bold and vibrant tones murmuring soft wishes into the limbs that birth compassion and desire, nostalgia for the past who goes back to seize divine triumph which comes from knowing God sends Autumn to reflect upon the passions of a promise to the heart for memories of pure inspirational moments stroking nature’s grasp on the heart. Red, gold and copper Mystery shades azure sky Changing green to death Seasonal blessings and brilliance felt with each touch from the sun, moon and stars encourages thoughts of peace and tranquility, love that is unconditional and willing to give freely of all that God has stirred within the heart who believes and sees these moments of change for what they give that is beyond our mind’s reasoning and goes on to bring about a miracle of birth to the spirit’s visions of nature’s wonder. Godsends are seasons Painting pleasing promises From loving angels Let the Pens Flow - Haibun Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Jenish Somadas August 10, 2020
