Poem
~”I see the dance, our reflection shines in a pool of water; I ponder fate and chance, and reflect on life and how we got here…”~ Me beautiful, sweet Lady Jennifer Ever I remain thy loyal Knight errant If it would so please thee, me good Maiden fair Bestow great honor upon thy humble servant My dearest, grant me my wish I do beseech The pleasure of your charming company Take my hand, join me in a dance at the beach We two, on the sand, in the rain, by the sea Canopied ‘neath me ol’ bumbershoot We shall rollick, frolic, and clown around I in me best topper an’ tails to suit You in your elegant, angelic gown Come dance with me, my lovely Lady fair Let us kick off our dress-‘em-up shoes Prance on the sand in the cool, salty air A grand promenade of just we two Two hearts beating in time like a drum As the sun set a stage of orange, red, and gold The music’s a symphony of nature’s rhythm In the dance a tale of romance is told As we whirl and twirl in our dance de jour Faces shining with the kiss of ocean mist In melodious embrace as down the rain pours As if in a dream within a dream of bliss A truly enchanted, magical eve Flitting about in the fairy fire lights The tapestry of life in the dancer’s weave A moment of time taken to exuberant heights Our feet barely touching the sandy floor Gliding blithely along in lover’s embrace Succumbing to the Siren’s song allure Gently caressing each other’s face The storm carried on, and so did we Dancing in the shadow of boardwalk lights The sound of waves crashing on the beach The lighthouse beacon shining in twilight In fluid motion elegant yet primal Intuitive movement graceful, genteel Two become one, singular and simple Our souls wrapped in rapture of a love so real Drenched in a torrent of rain and love Like two children playing in a puddle Kicking up water, sand, and mud Minds spellbound in a cloud all a fuddle The dance we do is the dance of life An inborn gift to jitterbug through The valleys and mountains as husband and wife A tango which only soul mates can do My Angel and I took our flight of fancy Soaring above the sea, clouds, and rain Together forever we shall go on dancing For in each other’s arms there is on pain We will dance in the sun or rain by the sea While time goes by and on forever The dance, however, may not last eternally But then time sometimes stands still for lovers
