Poem
He'll be 92 in DECEMBER, and before the corona virus, we did breakfast together every week. He is 21 years my senior and just being with him is a feast to REMEMBER. I will be turning 71 in SEPTEMBER, and I must say that since I was a child, being around people older than me has always been a thing of beauty for me. I'm like a hummingbird flying near and FAR, longing to draw a little NECTAR for my very survival. He loved getting out and looked forward to our weekly talks. When the virus hit, as were all of us, he was forced to slow his activities. Figuratively speaking, on the outside of his person, he was indeed QUANTINED, but on the inside, he was flapping his WINGS and soaring like an eagle. She turned 98 this past spring, and I tell you, she has always been one of my favorite persons. I loved her before I knew her because my wife told me about her. We visited her home once, and I'll never forget some 'Power Words' she spoke to me as we were departing. Those words did not relate to anything we had talked about that evening. The words seemed to have just come from nowhere. It's been some time ago and not being able to give a direct quote, I will paraphrase what she said. Do not DEBATE, HESITATE, or WAIT. Don't worry or give yourself a HEADACHE, just charge right in. Those words have permeated my entire being for several years. He is 87 and is passionately in love with The Lord and the Bible. For YEARS he has championed the cause of the 'unborn', and FEARS do not seem to be anywhere in his DNA. Moreover, many have been the TEARS shed on behalf of both the pregnant mothers-to-be and the endangered ones in the womb. I have been honored to know and work with him for the last 15 years. Did I mention my other friend in Wisconsin name Mary who has since passed on? She and her husband were in their 90s when I called Mary and her husband Wilbur some years ago just to say hello and catch up on our lives so to speak. I will never forget what Mary said to me about how they were spending their lives. Mary said, "We are helping 'old people' by taking them to the doctor". Had Mary and Wilbur gotten so busy that they forgot how old they were? Oh, I could go on and on, but I am prohibited by TIME and space to speak of other great friends of MINE. These are the people who SHINE BRIGHT LIGHTS into the darkness of NIGHT. These are the people who don't hope things will happen; they make things happen. They believe in love and not hate. They do not WAIT for 'FATE', but walk in 'FAITH'; and sometimes with their faith, they force the WINDS of change. Indeed, I tell you, these are real people, KEN, MARY, MARY, and MURRAY. These are people I greatly admire, not driven by the TRENDS, and I am pleased to call them my FRIENDS. 072220PSCtest, Muse, Regina Riddle. 26 Rhymes in CAPS
