Poem
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Matthew 24:37-39 Bible NIV NOAH’S ARK In days gone by it was beyond our imagination to see someone beat with a Barnabus cane. We could accept the fangs coming treacherously close, ready to sink into white milk-skin, but would have had a heart attack to observe the actual piercing, the blood descending, hell ascending to assail our eyes. Today people don’t even close their eyes nor shield their progeny’s lids. dark shadows descend Collinwood was a riddle all sorts of curses vampires, werewolves, and witches i shut my opera eyes I felt innocence drain as I played a Disney movie. When seen through a child’s first memory, it is devastating. The first time they see a cartoon die, get flattened by a truck, get steamrolled on the railroad, step off a cliff. Shall I go on. Oh yes...when they see Simba’s father die, Bambi’s mother die or an Alaskan husky snatch a bunny. “Grandma, is he dead?” do i have the heart to say I must tell the truth “nature can be awful boy when you’re all alone in it” We cannot shield the child forever, neither do we need to trash their innocence. Today is the killing fields for all sorts of sordid imaginations. First came the drip drip of water torture, then the dam burst. Noah’s ark is sailing through. 7/16/2020
