Poem
My best friend left me this morning. He wasn't just a best friend he was everything in the world to me. He loved me just as I am, and protected me just the same. . Booboo was a Papillon. He followed me everywhere I went. Even to the bathroom. He was daddys boy, my wife, he had a love hate relation with. He always would guard me from her. Oh he loved my wife but only on his terms. He love going for a ride with daddy and mommy. Id say to him Booboo you want to go for a ride, and his ears would perk up, his excitement level would give us the happiest dance you would ever see. The joy he had to go for a ride, brought joy to our hearts also. One day we took him to the Vet for his checkup. He appear to be fine. The Dr, Dr Pelerin was a God send. She checked him out and said he had a heart murmur. We were a little shocked and she recommended a specialist. The specialist told us he had two prolapsed valves in his heart. We were shocked because he was so normal. A year and a half later Booboo was having a problem breathing and we watch him stay up at night after night during his sleep time until exhausted and he would finally lay down. This happened every night watching him struggle with his breathing. We took him in to see the Dr thinking he had a very short time to live and she drained the fluid from him and he would be normal for two weeks and we have to do it again. It was worth it because he slept peacefully. She put him on Lasic, and a Statin drug, which was a miracle drug. Booboo had his life back. He would chase the squirrels and not be out of breath. It was a joy to see him back to normal. It made us so happy and the Dr was our Hero. The Lord let us have him two more years . This afternoon we took Booboo for a ride he was acting not himself. He usually sat up front in the car with me but he sat in the back seat. When we got him home we would give him his treaty treats where we put his pills in. He sometimes would eat the meat and leave his pills his medication. My wife would have to outsmart him. That was a challenge because he was very clever. She would hide his pills in different ingredients. Tonight he didn't want them. Later he was having a difficult time breathing and we noticed he was holding himself up and not laying down again. He was struggling breathing. My wife an RN said," Michael lets comfort him." We took him to bed and held him, telling him 1000 I love yous, while watching him fight for his life. This morning we lost our baby, Booboo.
