Show me someone keen to die,
And I will show you someone who does not know how to live.

Show me someone who is prepared to die,
And I will show you someone who wants to live.

Show me someone who lives for tomorrow,
And I will show you someone full of sorrow.

Show me the perfect painting,
And I will show you something not worth buying.

Show me a perfect general,
And I will see you at his funeral.

Show me a gambler who has never lost,
And I will show you how much his future will cost.

Show me someone afraid of losing,
And I will show someone in for a bruising.

Show me a lonely leader,
And I will show you a team in disorder.

Show me someone who never learned to laugh,
And I will show you someone whose life has been tough.

Show someone who has hope,
And I will show you someone who did not feed them dope.

Show me a happy marriage,
And I will show you what most can manage.

Show me them and us,
And I will show you a burnt-out bus.

Show me a photo of you and me,
And I will invite you to tea.

Show me perfection,
And I will show you stagnation.

Show me someone prepared for a fight, 
And I will show a future that is bright.

Show me someone who wants peace on their terms,
And I will show you who that harms.

Show me someone who knows a friend when they see one,
And I will show you someone happy til the end.
