Poem
Come and fly with me in my Gothic Black airplane, count to ten as we loop the loop, call my name and see the sky as I do. Six hundred miles an hour roll upside down and dive to the earth, my religion, you scream in confusion – in fear? Are you scared of me, am I so different for you to be afraid? Tell me, my dear girl, would you trust me with your life right now? If I shut my eyes as we hurtle to the earth going supersonic, can you pull us out of our death dive? Take a seven g-pull, blackout, save you and me, us, my Kahlia Akasha airplane? Or would you become like me, tempted to ride her down to the ocean, to oblivion? Suicide calls me, she lashes out to me, misses, tries again. Can you save me, are you strong enough to show me your soul, become vulnerable also? I can’t always be the strong one, weakness… Need your touch, you in my life as my girl to save me from oblivion. Pull me out of this supersonic nosedive, my airplane, she won’t bite you. All it takes is for you to be strong, to trust me, take a chance… One thousand feet, five hundred feet, eight hundred miles an hour. It is, I who now scream, in love, in fear, in confusion. G-force kicks us hard, airspeed falls away like my bank balance, KA’s wings visibly bend under the massive strain. What a in’ rush! We claw ourselves skywards with two hundred feet to spare, then back up into the life-saving blue, so very slowly, no supersonic fast jet now. Just me and a girl in the big scary world and a dream that we will make it, if fate is kind, if she will help me, love me… FADE INTO FOCUS, FOCUS INTO FADE SKEWARD IMAGES A NATION IN FLAMES By Nick Armbrister Early Books
