Poem
A little boy named Bradley William Found a rock that was one in a million. He asked if he could have a box So he could start collecting rocks. The box was full within two days His mom thought it was just a phase. But Bradley kept collecting rocks And soon he needed a bigger box. He had rocks both big and small But Bradley didn’t care at all. Every rock he gave a name He loved them all just the same. Soon his room was full of rocks No longer could he use a box. His mother prayed that he would stop Before his room was filled to the top. One day Bradley counted them He found he had one hundred and ten. His mother told him he should quit He had enough and that was it. But Bradley did not listen well He found some more but did not tell. He started filling up the shed If mom found out he would be dead. He had rocks of brown and pink And some were even blue, I think. Everywhere that Bradley went He found some more he could collect. Finally, there came a time When Bradley was the age of nine. His father went out to the shed And blew the top right off his head. “BRADLEY WILLIAM, YOU COME HERE! Help me get these out of here!” And as they moved them out the door Bradley looked and found some more! They counted them and don’t you know His father said they had to go. Bradley had one million rocks And it started with a single box. His father said he could keep one To remember all the work he’d done. He knew the very single rock That he would keep within his box. He would keep that special one That started him on all this fun. Days went by and Bradley William Found a BUG that was one in a million. Don’t you know his mother said, “GET IT OUT OR YOU’LL BE DEAD!”
