It was a simple authored task 
Based on honesty no need for a performing arts mask 
No hidden comments 
Only an eerie feeling of ‘I got em’ 
Laboring throughout the past 
Taking a sip once every page from the flask

Time to confirm the work 
Pop the champagne cork 
Taking the fictional tale to the rich people’s place 
Relegation still staring them in the face 
No one was in the offices or streets

Fog was not even there 
To offer up a bloody scare 
A lonely pub still playing its part 
Every one six feet apart 
Over a pint that looked like a beer 
This paperback writer forced back a tear 
No longer tapping a professional career 
Seeing across the bar 
A Hammy with bacon looking for a new star 
“I have worked eight days and I am weak 
I do speak 
Due to hard days going into night
But I tell you I still am ready to fight 
Put together this respectable write!”
