Poem
When will it stop? When will it end ? People fighting for their rights Begging for their lives They are helpless you can see it in their eyes It's not a surprise The ones who said would protect us They don't Take matters into their own hands Another African American Dead What's said He resisted arrest Why in the hell would you have your knee in his neck Where is the respect You sat there Didn't care But you all are abiding by the law People recording People saw This is not the first time this happen It's becoming the new norm Protect the people But you all are giving them harm It's turning fatal It's turning a mess Soon going to have to walk around with a bullet proof vest They are starting to do anything What has this world come to It's full of neglect It's full of hurt It's full of the law It's full of dirt No one truly understand Why do we have to continue to die? Be on every part of media So many rest in peace When will this cease Cops were once good and really wanted to help These days are all for themselves Not all some are still great That's what hurts Some are good and some are dirt Another knock on a familes door To reveal the hurt that your loved one was killed What's the deal Do the people enjoy tearing down a nation that was filled with so much opportunity Yet they divide us no unity A moment of silence For all That in these acts took a fall We shall overcome we have over overcame Please stop letting our people die in vein Let the boys grow up to become great men Let the girls be great women Let the world not cry Because another one if ours have died Chasing running to live to see another day For our people this is what I pray Put God in your heart Stop tearing this world apart The world has become so wicked That the ticket we cash out is our life And in the end we are paying the price Jesus carried all of our sins So we can live again Please stop the violence We are tired of remaining silent Written by : Concetta Hardnett 05/26/2020
