Under Pass the Subway
 
It was after all a fight for survival
shattered bottle cold wet wall
with concrete boots
spray and listen to it rattle
only this can hiss his name
on the cement rough wall
red white blood and heart
and that’s what for
 
Scrapping bone knuckles sore
only skin that’s all
colour is colour on the bland empty wall
now means something more
a hell of a lot more
 
Punch punched raw skin for the pain
hit the wall
smoke cold air disgusting lungs
but in he drew
for addiction for suffering for the label
and that’s what for
 
Sold on this filth
from childhood
how do they manage to sell disease
punch rattling paint aerosol
punch thump the wall
sputtering red mist saying Me me me !
This is not me !
who cut my hair and dyed it
that’s what for
 
Cut hair cut throat
I am not your fashion
robbing me of my money
selling my body
steeling me like a possession
robbed me of my identity
  
Wiped  heart on cold wet walls
just a wall and nothing more
and that’s what for
 
Shivers in the cold kicking glass
needing something more
swallowed the lot in ideals
all those what do you want to be’s
anything you want you told me
nothing for life
apart from your boredom
hours filled with institutions
 
I have nothing but your dreams to lie to me
 
Nothing but you taking me
ordering me teaching me pushing me
selling me buying me cajoling me
emptying me filling me using me
breaking me
when did you ever stop just stop to ask me
 
It never stops
my name on a wall
its just like you do to me

blank featureless cold
just a piece of machinery
and I’m just like you
