"The Reptilian Anthropocene" The Reptilians war daily enrobed in their stiff distinction suits rainbow coloured badges pinned to their lapels they beat their breasts and oily palms profiting from all the soft-boiled foxes on the run cerebral cortex bound thinking they are free-willed and free in the fields they are not they are captured by the crocodilians daily the power hungry trample other frontiers with their slick black profits trading bullets and viruses for bodies they strut with their weighting scales for their soul measuring remnant sales seductively scratching religion with their soft cells 5G, "you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours" the purple feathered cardinals dripping gold chains and crosses chirp in a frenzy and bend over for their daily kowtows, they are dragon birds crowns and halos to be seen for what they truly are they are the ghosts in the machine adroitly eating away at the minds of the cur that is man like a black plague eventually their eyes in the sky look down upon the dumbstruck brain-candied herds shooting lazer beams and wars of a different kind watching the blue marble’s valleys and forests no longer green burn and bleed to where all the rivers run dry up and rust all is going going gone dust to dust Gaia bears the real crucifixion scars Major Tom is a junky blue tongued and poisonous their levels of worship in a green-backed world spent polishing their big guns playing lives for face points who scrabble like rodents they begin to attack and eat each other on burrowing and borrowing playing musical chairs from their bored board seats The lizards pushing those they only recognise as fleas with their big teflon sticks all the little plasticine people caught, enthralled and molly sucking drugged on a wide open table, overpopulated, ignorant and embracing fistfuls of catch-me-if-you-can better-than-you dollars brainwaves frazzled and zumanity's technological face tics a nervous condition 1 minute to midnight, wears the glass slipper ... to where? War comes and goes blushing red over fields like all the Poppies of a past time forgotten The last poppies ever known or seen The true courage and fresh naivety of Man. Bleeding in the fields of forgotten poppies Will we remember them? Truth and Courage now all but Invisible In the Time of The Reptilian Anthropocene (LadyLabyrinth / 2020) gvlm/llb Everything Everything - "No Reptiles" (Royalston Remix) https://youtu.be/9C5OMXNTE3w “Deep inside the skull of every one of us there is something like a brain of a crocodile. Surrounding the R-complex is the limbic system or mammalian brain, which evolved tens of millions of years ago in ancestors who were mammal but not yet primates. It is a major source of our moods and emotions, of our concern and care for the young. And finally, on the outside, living in uneasy truce with the more primitive brains beneath, is the cerebral cortex; civilization is a product of the cerebral cortex.” — Carl Sagan “Slip from the trees to the dirt to the menace To the wild to the car under snow, cut to ribbons Like a coral to your shin like a manacle to swing Fresh from the breast now a river running fat To the manor born a rat to the manor born a flea To a flood to a drain now a rubber, now a chain I was in the war You were in the war” 1. Reptilian 2. Cardinals 3. Poppies 4. Scrabble 5. Athropocene “Some 320 million years ago, the evolution of a protective membrane surrounding the embryo, the amnion, enabled vertebrates to develop outside of water and thus to invade new terrestrial niches. These amniotes were the ancestors of today’s mammals and sauropsids (reptiles and birds). Present-day reptiles are a diverse group of more than 10,000 species that comprise sphenodons (‘Tuatara’), lizards, snakes, turtles and crocodilians. Although turtles were once thought to be the most ‘primitive’ among reptiles, current genomic data point toward two major groupings: the Squamata (lizards and snakes); and a group comprising both the turtles and the Archosauria (dinosaurs, modern birds and crocodilians). Dinosaurs inhabited the Earth from the Triassic (230 million years ago), at a time when the entire landmass formed a single Pangaea. They flourished from the beginning of the Jurassic to the mass extinction at the end of the Cretaceous (65 million years ago), and birds are their only survivors." https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/out-the-ooze/201601/the-psychology-going-war Lyrics/ “No Reptiles”, Everything Everything https://genius.com/Everything-everything-no-reptiles-lyrics “30000 Megatons” / Pond https://youtu.be/3EQPsCbmgkk
