Poem
Eve was invited to test the peaceful waters of God, but she could not see, hear, nor feel the rushing waves until it was too late. Like the work of a master magician, God's gentle and calming waters were transformed into white-water rapids. None would deny that Adam was authorized to be her bridge, but he failed her as both were swallowed by the rapidly moving waters. Literal waters cover about 71% of the surface of the earth.* Literal water makes up 60 percent of the human body.** May it suffice to say that there is no escaping the massive volumes of the 'waters of life' faced by each of us. Without a bridge to safely cross those troubled waters surrounding us, we shall be as the creatures of Noah's day, and will surely perish. Like a bridge over troubles waters, I shall look to Him who calmed an angry beast in a lion's den, to Him who walked on the waters, to Him who said, "Peace, be still" to a raging sea, and to Him who made salvation free for you and me. Yes, Jesus is my bridge, and I would not leave home without Him. 051120PSCtest, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, John Hamilton *Up to 60% of the human adult body is water. According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water. **About 71 percent of the Earth's surface is water-covered. The oceans hold about 96.5 percent of all Earth's water. USGS.
