Who chose the needle and the coloured thread
To weave our destiny of happiness or dread
Are we at the mercy of an invisible monogenes
When we realise our lives are not simple anyway

We were given choices we are led to understand
Is there anybody whose life went as they had planned
Life is like a tapestry, some big some small
Some of them are so big the sewer runs out of thread
Others are small and colourless, the owner is dead

We may not have a choice in our life plan
We can help put colour into others when we can
If we all picked colours of many different shades
Imagine the pleasure and joy this would convey
