“The Lazarus Heart”



In the moment 
time stops:
suspended; seen
in solitary confinement
the heart of a soul
silent light weighted 
in the dark, rebellious
is the meaning of a name
Mary waits four days
in the flux
The Lazarus Heart
kick starts bedevilled 
by the blessed bees 
miracles of surrender
stung into meaning
the passion resurrects 
the massaged mind
found wanting and 
swollen, she steps 
in bleeding feet
divine supersedure 
the Lazarus Heart
kissed epinephrine
the target released 
the receptor escapes
from a cell, 
a storm in a 
bad dream
Love is a fever
responding to 
light and heat
transmitting a 
signal, the will to live
the revolution drum begins
to resound the contractual
beat, she concedes 
the graceless
Judas Kiss
seen in the dark
for what it 
truly is
the Passion
palms held 
and lines 
of a future 
read
abandoned
are the legions
of neutrality 
The Lazarus Heart
swells like an Ocean
her tides full of life, 
Sun drenched
She is no longer 
dead
