When the sun is shining bright,
we feel its warmth on our skin.
And somehow, we are suddenly at peace;
with our worries subconsciously on pause,
our sensitive side basks in the moment.
Breathing in a breath of air;
reminds us that we're alive.
Life is too short; we should pay attention;
when time tugs on us with a gentle hand
and shares the subtle splendors of nature.
Forget life's complexities,
they get simpler over time.
Think back to the innocence of childhood,
when youth was an unexplored adventure;
and we looked forward to everything new.
When a songbird starts to sing,
its song warrants a response.
But crushed by the weight of reality,
we allot no time for the little things;
yet death can instantly cut our stay short.
We've only one life to live;
best we live it while we can.
