Poem
Looking out of my window I wish I could see the future And I wish if I could write life the way I want it to be So, it would be a never-ending story and open literature And I could make changes to it whenever I need to change the stories So that the people I love would live forever And there would be no sadness, tears or worries But sadly, it's just wishful thinking And we can't control what we don't know We all must travel that long and winding road Trying to create meaning as we go When we lost the one, we love Many tears fall on our pillow And inside of us becomes a daunting place A dark place, a Weeping Willow But hurt as we will be With our heart ripping from our chest, The only comfort that we can find is saying its gods work And life is one big test What else can we say or do There is no hiding from pain We just got to make through the storms And stand in the sun and learn to smile again, Whatever life throws at us There is no place to hide We have to put on our fake smile Swell our chest and take it with stride Sometimes the rain will inspire us To look for the rainbow beyond the clouds Something for us to hold on to Without fanfare or cheering crowds Just our hopes and our dreams That keeps us moving on Hoping to find the meaning of our existence Before our young years are gone Some people achieve the greatest things And some people can’t no matter how hard they try Some are born with disabilities And watch helplessly as life passes them by No many will stop and think of others The rich just want to more and more The handicaps are locked behind closed doors You are quicker to get charity from the poor Not all of us have empathy And it’s our prerogative to have it or not to But I know that we have days that we have stumbled So, we can definitely put ourselves in others shoe So, as I stand here at the window In my heart, I feel sad Thinking of my parents and all of my families Wishing I could go back to the best times I ever had I wish I had the power to recycle time Just go back when I feel lonely And rewrite it as I go along So everyone life will be a happy story
