Poem
They do not want to be seen, they do not want to be heard, they don’t have peace, and they don’t feel anything. They walk through walls and give you that chill down your spine when they enter the room. They stand and watch you sleep and slowly brush their finger through your hair. They do not feel pain because pain was taken away, they just feel emptiness, and they just feel loneliness. What makes this any different from when they were living and breathing? Just the air in their lungs, just the air. You didn’t see them when they were day walkers, you didn’t see them when they felt lonely, you didn’t see them when they felt sad or hurt. You see, this is not that different. They can still walk through walls and you wouldn’t even know, they can still stand in the rain and watch the drops fall right through. Again, no difference . A shell is just a shell, it might have had life in there at some point but once it becomes a shell it becomes an ornament that you put on your glass coffee table. A shell will always just be a shell. They will walk on a footpath used by many but leave no footprint, they will graze their hand against the tall standing grass and it won’t even move, they will stand in the wind but it blows right through. You would think being invisible would be a problem because no one can see you, but how can it be a problem if they never saw you anyway? So you can try to colour in the lines to fill up that emptiness, you can try to fit all of the boxes into places where they fit, but just keep in mind that when something is invisible how will you try to fill it if you don’t even know if it is really there. Here is the mask that the invisible can choose to wear, here is the shoe that they can use to leave prints, here is the air that they use to breath and here is heart that should keep them alive. They are invisible and always will be. An empty shell . Just a ghost inside.
