Poem
Bang! Bang! Bang! The sound of gun shots echoing in the air Shattering windows and, smashing glasses Sending people pouring out in the street Gun shots penetrating the clouds With a message that is very loud People are running and screaming around confused and frightened They disburse all over the town The grey cloud is swirling around in the sky And the moment is slowly drifting by The wind is passing through the trees Sending a clear message to you and me The sun is buried underneath the clouds But I can still feel the heat moving over me I am still forcing myself to come to terms With life in this city and no matter what I do I still cannot make myself feel happy Christmas has come and gone And the New Year is slowly disappearing But Easter is running a hundred meter all over the town. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday Another tradition is hurling at the door And the sinners are beckoning for more People will pray in the cathedral and churches But I will stay away from large crowds The parasites are hungry for blood So pack up your possessions and run The sun has burnt the excitement out of the town And people are moving around with emptiness Vein expressions dilute their faces And they cannot enter the races Along the corridor of my heart I can hear the People crying, Along the corridors of my heart I can hear the people singing but they are not connecting The zeal has died down And their passion has drowned and courage could not be found Boisterous women in the park got into a sudden laughing fits They are jumping up and laughing Only heavens knows what they are laughing about They are laughing out loud But laughing at themselves Then suddenly it gets quiet again And then it gets extremely silent. A gloomy feeling has penetrate the town And passion is draining up and down I gazed across the street to see if there is anything That could change this miserable mood But my emotions cries louder I could hear the people calling out And they were asking for more But just empty words scattering around More sellers than buyers spread out on the street With expressions that run very deep They built up passion that is running wild But deep down they are crying inside The time is hard and buying and selling Is a difficult business to contend with The goods are cheap but the lowest price Is not attracting buyers and the people Are finding it hard to hustle for their supper Though they bargain for a hundred dollar The equivalent to one American dollar People cannot not find a dollar to buy the cheapest goods My mind keep drifting around the place And it is although everything is out of place It is the feelings that overshadow you When danger is lurking about It is the feeling you get when you want to shout. The police are out on the street and I can feel my heart beat Tomorrow is the start of lent and everyone must get ready to bend Where will it originate from the pulpit or the aisle Just the thought of it makes me want to cry “This country is a God fearing country!” a woman shouts, "but why should you be afraid of God? You should be hugging and embracing God" my silent spirit responds “Mash it up”, the voice kept repeating, “Mash it up, they are too deceiving” The voice got bigger and bigger So I ran through the gate before it was too late The whisper, the shouts everything is getting loud I am just passing through
