Poem

We, as young black people, think that the struggles have been easy, cause it seems that 
we have had everything.
All of our cries and our aches have been on the backs of our mothers and fathers.
But as we look at their faces and we see their hair begin to change and even as there 
body begin to change from the passing of time.
We can see that…Through it All
Through All the Pain	
Through All the Sickness
Through All the Hurt
That this life has given…it has not been easy sometimes has not even been fair.
But they like our forefathers,
Those that came on the slave ships,
Those that came to a land,
Those that were made slaves,
Looked deep into their souls and came up with a knowledge,
That these diversities wouldn't break.
That the whips on our backs would only work its purpose for that moment alone but;
Through It All…We have made it.
Through It All…We have overcome.
Through It All…We are the descendents of Kings, Queens, Inventors, and we're looking 
toward a new age, a new millennium where we will Reign, and that day will be our day, 
CAUSE I WILL BE A MAN, AND WE AS A SOCIETY WILL FINALLY TAKE OUR STAND.
