Poem
This world’s home to many demons The devil is their king Never will they rest until this world rots from within He dwells within your darkness He plots to block the sun Adding to the noise until his voice is left the only one He barricades your heart And overwhelms your mind Until up feels like left And right feels underground He fights a losing battle But for that he doesn’t care his power’s only in the depths as he was banished there He fills his ranks with fallen With those who lost the prize Those so lost in torment they could no longer lift their eyes A promise made so long ago That our paths would be made clear A companion sent to walk along For this and every year The devil only beats you When you give up on your faith When you let all of his darkness Consume all of your space See he’s the one that’s fearful He’s just using you to hide He only got inside your soul When you believed his many lies He needs you to destroy yourself He needs you to shut down The only place where he feels safe is six feet underground The truth that he keeps hidden Is that he knows what is to come A mighty throng of Angels To burn him to the ground In light there is no darkness And therefore, no more lies He lost his wings so long ago He’s useless in the skies He tells you that you’re nothing That there’s no one left to come That’s when you know he’s desperate He thinks with you he’s won Like the dark of each night’s broken And each storm then brings calm It’s in that quiet moment When he knows that all is gone the hoof beats in the distance they pound a mighty song Behold the sight unfolding the true King's not alone Here now rides our champion He’s coming for what’s his He wants you to rise up And lift your eyes to his Your trials they held a purpose There’s reward for all your pain For the king has kept a record your names are on his skin he rode in righteous fury unleashing on the horde he stood upon his promise he stayed true to his word he came for those forgotten in an instant, it was done Justice served in full he’d forgotten not a one All the trials had led to this those souls once silent, sing the sword of the spirit sits plunged through the demon king
