Poem
The Cold breeze against the window pane Shatters it in vain, It’s a monsoon rain, broken heart in a broken body makes no sound, let's hear it out aloud, Here comes the drops steady and soft, falling from a sky of peace and mercy. I bathed my skin in the rain lightly, taking careful notice not to touch the bruises that shattered my body. I closed my eyes over and over, each time dragging myself back to my nightmare. People say don't you talk about it, it's way too private, Still I stand hear as I talk about it, that touch that night was way inappropriate. I stumble upon the memories as I sit here recollecting the monstrous face of mankind. Standing in the cold, cold rain, feet shivering as soon as another breeze passes by. Could feel every single drop touching my face, as I stood there, aggressively rubbing off his imprints over my body. In hope, I'd be pure again, As my tears roll down my cheeks, shuddering by the thought of it. I wailed, couldn't let mama papa know about my pain. It’s a monsoon rain, Covering up my grief to not lose it all. It wasn't my fault at all, I'm a girl, just a girl, Who was the monster after all ? The bruises will remind me of a time, I had lost it all. I'll be strong some day, But for today, I'll just let the rain hit my face and tell myself, Don't give up girl, just a day, just a night to go, don't lose yourself, Just hold on a day more, just a day more.
