Poem
Americans are on the move for a myriad of reasons no doubt, but perhaps mostly finance and politics. Earthquakes, Hurricanes, tornados, fires, etc seem to change the landscape and cause heartaches, but they don't frighten the populous away, because we constantly hear them say, "We will rebuild". We withstand the mighty forces of nature, but it seems harder to survive and prosper in the face of 'the forces of mankind'. Does anyone care about affordability, family values, and quality of life anymore? Have we been so blinded by greed that we don't care what tomorrow will bring? Not everyone can read the handwriting on the wall, but does anyone care? Is there a Daniel among us to tell us that we are being weighed in the balances? Is anyone looking for Daniel who would tell us that we are wanting-lacking what it takes to survive, or do we even care to hear about truth and consequences? Are we leaving our hearts behind or are we taking them with us? Does anyone care one way or the other if I leave or if I stay? Perhaps the states there're leaving really prefer it that way. But there is another thing that I have noticed about people's mobility. 'Go west young man' was the cry of generations ago but not so much anymore. They came for the gold in California, the silver in Nevada, and new opportunities in the Great Northwest. They risked it all blazing new trails and braving multiple hardships in the wilds. I also observed that most Uhaul rentals are leaving west and stopping in Texas. And I read that Idaho and Texas are asking that Californians stay away, not just because they are driving up their property values much too rapidly, but they do not approve of the California cultural and political mindset. Has anyone noticed and does anyone care about the rapid NASCAR pace of change in America? There appears to be more corruption in politics, not just by hands from overseas, but from our own hands of dishonesty at home. Our ability and desire to trust one another have gone bankrupt. We are highly disconnected and disunited. We are extremely prosperous on one hand and poor and homeless on the other hand. But does anyone care? There are undercurrents and upper currents vying to destroy this free republic, but does anyone care? 020820PoSpCtest, Does Anyone Care, Emile Pinet
