Mum used to tell me
the bible contradicts itself
and that's true
but is it like a riddle 

waiting to be solved
the bible says 
God created man in his image
so God should look like a man

But then it goes on 
to speak more about God
God came down from the heavens 
to walk on earth as a man

In the garden of Eden
so was he a man 
before he came down to the earth
or did he change shape

to walk on the earth as a man
When Moses met him in the desert
he was a burning brush
and up, on the mountain 

When Moses went up to talk to God
he couldn't look at him without
it, killing him, so God appears to be able
to change shape and power levels

He also appeared at the door 
of Moses tent in the exodus  
of Hebrew people 
as they walked through the desert

he appeared as a cloud 
with fire inside the cloud
Moses wrote the first five books
of the bible the Torah

Perhaps dictated to Moses
by God sitting at the door of his tent
I wonder, did God simplify
the story of creation 

so Moses could understand
after all, Moses knew nothing 
of the universe could Moses 
understand the concept of atoms

coming together to create a sun
Could Moses understand the concept 
of DNA programming to create a person
or did God simply create a story 

that Moses could understand
a story of creation that his mind 
could comprehend
I'm told that I have to believe

with blind faith
sorry people that's not me
I like to question, comprehend and think
blind faith has you paying dollars 

to people that spend it on themselves
blind faith allowed Manson 
to lead a dozen teenagers 
on a killing spree

Blind faith allowed you to become
a puppet in the hands of other people
I like to read think and study
back into history and use your own brain

what did the church do in the past
what does the bible say they should do
thou shalt not kill
is pretty simple and pretty clear

if your religion is telling you to kill people
or pay them money 
so they can build mansions for themselves
God says you can tell my people 

from the fruit of their trees
people that devote their lives 
to looking after, the sick and the injured
devote their lives to helping, not molesting children

They are Gods people 
they can be found as firemen
risking their lives to help other's
teachers fighting to provide an education

all over the world, good people
fight to make a better world
and selfish people scheme 
to take your money
