I don't really want to cripple the church I realize that the Pope and the church have problems Imagine in his position all the expenses of the church The budgets, electricity building maintenance wages costs of administration Granted the disciples used to spend the tithe on themselves buying food and paying for the costs of growing church It costs money to build buildings but you forgot one lesson It is not your money it belongs to God Healthy people ministers nuns could have other jobs in the community you could work as plumbers, doctor, lawers training up to provide useful skills for society Monasteries in the fifteenth century knew about farming techniques they could have used those skills to teach the community to build wealth healthy farms Granted the bible says don't follow mammon man can not have two masters luke 16:13 so if you look up to money as a God if you live in luxury spending Gods money on yourself you follow Mammon Eighty percent of every dollar given to the Church is spent on administration another word for administration Is money spent on yourselves With great power comes great responsibility as the leaders of the Church you were supposed to build Gods KIngdom on earth, As the leaders of the Church You had a responsibility to treat people as your Neighbours if a man falls off his horse The Good Samaritan Paid for his medical expenses paid for his accommodation so if a person had a car accident loses their job can't earn a wage you as the leader of the Church as a member of the congregation are all obligated to help people in need I think the social welfare system has actually come close to what the bible wanted but in the last few years Governments have moved away from investing In building companies stating Governments can't run companies gives you the excuse to walk away, from building productive and thriving industry You leave it for the people to create employment Governments created Railway's dams industry you could redesign budgets redirecting a percentage of government funds into creating a thriving industry But companies must stand alone you can't prop up a company with tax money coming from your people it doesn't work, companies live and die. based on profit If they can't make a profit we can't afford to keep wasting good money on a bad investment. If we combine investment from the Church Investment from the people investment from the wealthy Investment from the Governments what can't we create
