Poem
grave request from "the ur poems" by Michael R. Burch come to ur doom in Tombstone; the stars stark and chill over Boot Hill care nothing for ur desire; still, imagine they wish u no ill, that u burn with the same antique fire; for there’s nothing to life but the thrill of living until u expire; so come, spend ur last hardearned bill on Tombstone. NOTE: The “in Tombstone” and “on Tombstone” are not accidental. The invitation to come “in” to Tombstone is to spend that last bill “on” a Tombstone. The poem is not really about the Wild West but about any spree that ends with a trip to the cemetery, as all sprees eventually do. & GAUD said, “Let there be LIGHT VERSE to illuminate the ‘nature’ of my Curse!” —michael r. burch if ur GAUD is good, half the Bible is libel. —Michael R. Burch pretty pickle by Michael R. Burch u’d blaspheme if u could because ur GAUD’s no good, but of course u cant: ur a lowly ant (or so u were told by a Hierophant). dust (II) by michael r. burch wee are dust and to dust wee must return... but why, then, life’s pointless sojourn? u-turn: another way to look at religion by Michael R. Burch ... u were borne orphaned from Ecstasy into this lower realm: just one of the inching worms dreaming of Beatification; u would love to make a u-turn back to Divinity, but having misplaced ur chrysalis, u can only chant magical phrases, like Circe luring ulysses back into the pigsty... chrysalis by michael r. burch these are the days of doom u seldom leave ur room u live in perpetual gloom yet also the days of hope how to cope? u pray and u grope toward self illumination... becoming an angel (pure love) and yet You must love Your Self Tell me what i am by michael r. burch Tell me what i am, for i have often wondered why i live. Do u know?— please tell me so; drive away this darkness from within. For my heart is black with sin and i have often wondered why i am. And my thoughts are lacking light though i have often sought what was right. Now it is night; please drive away the darkness from without, for i doubt that i will see the coming of the day without ur help. evol-u-shun by michael r. burch for and after william blake does GOD adore the Tyger while it’s ripping ur lamb apart? does GOD applaud the Plague while it’s eating u à la carte? does GOD admire ur brains while ur claiming IT has a heart? does GOD endorse the Bible you blue-lighted at k-mart? Keywords/Tags: god, gaud, religion, u, ur, ur poems
