CABIN FEVER A dream comes true, a nice log cabin within a glade in the forest Bought as advertised; with not a soul to be seen, this promised Bags packed and off I went, for peace and isolation, at long last 3 tins of beans, a tin opener and a saw, enough wood as asked 1 solar-powered battery, everyone needs some light just to see With no Wi-Fi to be found; I took with me, some books to read With no roads or, tracks found, they parachuted me off a plane They told me; it would be next spring before they saw me again I arrived at the old log cabin just a little after it was getting dark Looking around; I must say, it was pretty damp and, a bit stark I found a pile of handwritten pages; left upon, the wooden table Threw them on the fire, as it made the burning of it more stable Couple of months later, all books read and my saw getting blunt Running out nosh, and as a veggie I wasn’t in the mood to hunt All that was left was; ice snow water that was going to my head I kept thinking; the pine trees were talking to me, as I lay in bed There is rustling outside my window I am sure someone is there There’s a growling noise, as at my window, brown eyes do stare Just why didn't someone warn me, is it because they didn't care Left a few notes about the isolation as they could with me share When it dawned on me; them darn papers, I found on the table That I’d rolled up to make the flamin’ fire, a little bit more stable So . . . I have written my story of events; left it upon the wooden table With a note, don’t chuck on the fire, please read, if you are able Says that peace and isolation is not all that it’s cracked up to be To get yourself a bucket and on no circumstances go out to pee No matter how lovely the scenery; which to yourself, I do appeal There’s one hell of brown bear out there, &, you’re its next meal So: the moral of this story is; read all papers left upon the table Because; it might just save your life, from being, otherwise fatal Indiana Shaw . . . *o*
