Poem
I stand on top of the mountain gazing over the horizon Looking at the clouds rolling by with a message wrapped up in the sky. The message is subtle, the message is brief, The message is in the final decree The afternoon with its brazen sprit, is crawling over my flesh and a motion that is so deep is rocking under my feet Hope is cruising on top the mountain, And water is gushing out of the fountain The heavens are standing by to hand out extra supply The old calendar year is coming to an end with all its trouble and decreased bubble, I just wonder what has just happened The spirits are low and tension is absorbed in the sky The mystical clouds are over me and a penitent mood is rolling by No intoxication, no overspending, And the marijuana show has gotten a big blow It is just the spirit of uncertainty that you feel everywhere The morning floats, the evening doubts, and the nights shouts When you look at their countenance, Hopeless is buried on faces No business, no sales there is no hurry for the New Year Here I am in the middle of it still waiting Waiting for you to come, Christmas has come and gone And I am still here waiting People have come and stared at me Laughing and looking at me with pity But they are not a part of the show The music is playing and they are on the go I try to keep my spirit high, And hope that you will drop by But the days have passed and the nights are long And the heaven is still stuck in the sky I have a special message for you, I cannot write it, I cannot share it and I cannot whisper it. I have to tell it directly to you, Man in his own Kingdom has faced the broken edge And the spirit of lawlessness is gallivanting all over his bed The passing of time is swift, And it has bruised the spirited and hopes The sun is buried underneath the clouds, And it seems as if the evening is done The fire is going out of them And the clouds are rolling around the bend A solemn feeling is hanging around And it is moving from town to town, The people are walking up and down the street The afternoon heat is raising havoc in the town Sending a nerving pressure all around People are walking and talking But they are not smiling I just wonder what they are thinking. It is the heart of the show that makes me feel the glow Come join in the splendor with me As we anticipate the grand jubilee. The evening and the morning join hands in hands And night is getting ready to sing a new song We have to face the passing of time and bid grudgeful calendar its final goodbye. Come and see me.
