Poem
I’m in love with someone else’s dream come true, I’m in love with the person, they gave their heart to I’m in love with the sweet smile that she gets to see every day of her life, I’m in love with the person, that is always on her mind I’m in love with the arms that hold her so close at night, I’m in love with the touch that she feels, that always feels so right I’m in love with the eyes, that she gazes into that shines with a love so true, I’m in love with the voice that whispers in her ear, “I love you” I’m in love with the soul that belongs to her, and has from the start, I’m in love with the heartbeat that beats for her, so true, from your heart I’m in love with the tales of the pain you have endured in your life, I’m sure she has listened to them as well, and eased them from your mind I’m in love with the warmth of your sweet embrace, that we both hold so close to our hearts, I’m in love with you as she is, I love every, broken, part For a while you were in my life, and you made me your dream come true, you made me feel alive, and showed me a love like I never knew You gave your heart to me when it was broken, asking me to help it mend, I gave you all the love I could, until you decided, it had to end You once gave me your sweet smile, and it melted my heart, I keep this vision in my mind, even though we’re apart You’re always on my mind, you appear in every dream, in my heart I know nothing is as real as it seems You once held me in your arms and I prayed for you to never let go, I treasured every moment I spent inside them, because I loved you so I once felt your touch and I never wanted the feeling to end, in my heart I must remember how it feels, because I know I’ll never feel it again I once lay in your arms for hours, just looking into your beautiful eyes, I listened to your sweet voice telling me you loved me, knowing in my heart your love was undisguised You opened yourself to me, as you once told me that is something you never do, you showed me your soul, every piece of your heart, every part of you Your heart once beat in time so close to mine, your eyes once held so much love for me, that gleamed with a beautiful shine You told me about the pain that you have been through in your life, you told me stories that you never told a soul, that I will hold close to me until the day I die I once felt your warm, sweet embrace that I still feel inside, I will always hold you close to me, even though you said goodbye So, go on, be happy, as you deserve to be, be the person that I love with every part of me Thank you for showing me the meaning of true love, a love that will live in my heart forever, even though she has you in her life, and we can’t be together. This poem is from my book titled Windows of The Heart available on Amazon and Kindle. My pen name is Amanda Carroll Kinzer
