"Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done," I began to sing during three weeks of prayer from 9 in the morning till 5, a full "work" day. I challenged my church, If you want the LORD to be with you 24/7, how many hours daily could you spend in prayer? "Thy Kingdom Come LORD Thy will be done; Abba Father in Heaven, Holy is Thy Na-aammmee, Holy is Thy name." I sang it when none was present. I continued interceding for nations, the sick, the addicted, children ... Who was I honoring, you ask. I get some useful clues in John's Epistle. In 1 John 1, hear the disciples reveal: "This then is the message which we have heard of him .... that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all." So there are ways to talk of God with omni- qualities. It is clearly the case that the LORD is ALL-Mighty, al-Shaddai. He sees everything all at once. This is well and good when we teach a lesson, catechism, or do comparative religion, these "omni-qualities." However, some of the old-time (best) CHRIST-ians elevated this one quality: God is Good. I can make the leap from light to "goodness," easier than from "omnipotence" to the "problem of evil rampant" in the growing Kingdom here on earth! If God is pre-eminently good, we humbly submit, we will TRUST HIM and His GOODNESS, especially when we have no "light" in our various situations. Faith, belief, trust ... are matters separate from knowledge. For if we KNOW, we have evidence, not faith or belief. My faith says, "God is omnibenevolent, and I will trust His wisdom and care for me." In my sharing sermons with congregations, they were hungry to hear "God is good to me, to us, even when we fail to grasp how!" Omniscience is good; people adore a Good God. Yes, adore away. He is GOOD always! Holy Spirit, may I walk in the light of Jesus' teachings, some of which are in the 4 Gospels, and other "gospel truths" in the Epistles. Spirit, you are the Teacher that Jesus gifted us on the eve of crucifixion. In John 16, He told His disciples (and us): "It is to your advantage that I go away ... for if I go not away, the Holy Spirit will not come." The light of God suggests, the Spirit is the Jesus before He entered Mary's womb. One God, three Persons: Jesus is Spirit, when He has no physical body here. Again, since Calvary He is all Spirit, all power, no longer having to lay aside His deity, as He had done on earth. See Paul's letter to the Philippians (chapter 2: verses 6 and following). And to see how Jesus is in the Father, see John 14.
