Poem
The road that leads to the throne is a million miles away from home The road that leads to the throne Will take you all over the town You have to go around the winding road Up and around the bend until you reach heaven I set out on a presumptuous journey That was never meant to be holy I crossed the dangerous bridge Positioned at the foot of the hill With a heavy bag pack laden with goods on my back And water to sap my back, I journeyed on until I reached a place Where I could see a glimpse of land My heart was merry and my spirit was happy I looked across the distance and And I see you standing there with a big smile on your face And your heart filled with grace You were waving to the gigantic crowd That was cheering very loud I heard the music playing and people chanting But I could not make out a word that they were saying Because I was many miles away But I was determined to get to you anyway With courage in my head and hope in my body I pressed on the upward hill The wind was amazed with me And it suddenly became very still There was no one insight except me And the trees were all smiling around me And I could hear in the hollow below The villagers crying out for me They were actually on the other side A good distance behind the cloud Where the message was very loud The trees stood still around me And even the birds were singing a song for me I thought I heard that song before When the savior was knocking at my door Hope had lasted long and evening was carrying me along The sun peaked out over the horizon With warm rays parachuting in front of me The evening embraces the light and everything was positioned to much delight It’s satisfying when you are traveling alone And you are not a part of the bombastic crowd I felt a touch of warm air blowing around me And the smell of roasted coffee beans floating in the air That was a signal that destiny was very near I could smell it, I could taste it and I could feel it I kept traveling on climbing up the steep hill Gripping on the spirit of perseverance and determination As I got closer and closer the sound gets louder and the crowd got bigger The heat was on, but my courage was strong I finally made to the top of the hill And I heard them calling out your name I could detect every scent around And I could analyze the musical sound I felt the spirit guiding me And someone pulling me When I turned around, it was you holding My hand and I marched forward with you To sing the victory song. The road to the throne is hard and long The road to the throne is a historic one And the heavens keep singing our song.
