Poem
Oh what sorrows have begat thee? Oh what pain has come upon thee? Drooping head hanging low And the billows are moving to and fro Unkempt hair flying high in the sky And anxious whiskers are standing by Your shadows stand aloof the wall And your sins are growing tall The daggers are carefully positioned And weapons are crying like a dying man I come to retrieve what is really mine As long as destiny gives me that bligh Oh what grief has suddenly overshadow you Oh what power has beguile you Years of denial and curry favor has finally reached the max And everyone is sharpening their axe To hew down the stubborn branches From right left and center Here I am sitting in the passage that separates the church from the school Absorbing the fresh smell of pine wood floating in the air It must have escaped from the woodwork shop across the street And it brought back memories that are very deep It reminds me of a smell that I had long forgotten The memory of running barefooted through the bushes Picking corn, and plucking wheat, I used to mount upon big Mango trees and listen to the birds grand jubilee And when the wind blows through the heart of your soul the story began to be told. It was just like yesterday when they cut down the cedar tree And stripped it of all its misery I still can see the people standing by And the clouds drifting in the sky. What is it that is still puzzling you? What is it that befalls you? You knew that this moment was coming When you have to finally face your sordid sin When the curtain is pulled and the symphony begins I will be standing right there looking at you Yes, I will penetrate every moment of it. But I will not rejoice but let destiny weep for us all. Why do you stare at me as if I was some kind of mystic? Why do you stare at me as if I dining with the wicked? You stare at me as if I was playing a ruthless game And you stare at me as if I have no shame I see you standing behind the iron grill, trapped Your body bearing the weight of the iron bar And your tough hands are reaching out to say goodbye Uncertain waves are rattling on the gate, you must hurry before it is too late They see me coming and going, And everyone wonder what I am doing, Nobody asked me, they only make up a story about me Some say that I am mad While another say that I am looking sad The morning began with its bruising scar Calling on me to double check the bar Its splattered rays of light into the sky While the wild river is sailing with the prisoners ship Scores of them packed upon the big deck Waving goodbye as they drift into another life The water is rising, the temperature is increasing And the testimony is complete Come and talk to me.
