Poem
Broken Trust, When someone has gained your respect and trust; they have become a true friend. You feel comfortable and safe around them knowing they would never hurt you! Whenever you see them, especially if it’s been a long time you become filled with excitement. Friendship always remains in the heart and picks up right where it left off. A friendship filled with respect and trust never counts days, weeks, months or years, it just continues to grow as absence makes the heart grow fonder. As far as you are concerned, nothing has changed. However; sometimes things go horribly wrong leaving you confused and hurt, changing how you feel about them, essentially, they broke your trust! They may or may not have meant to hurt you, but they did. They put them self-first losing a valued friendship. Once trust is broken, it affects your respect and friendship making it hard to regain if even possible! It’s extremely difficult to get past the hurt and betrayal. They have fallen from your heart, taking the respect and trust you once gave them; leaving a wounded heart behind. Its hard to understand how this could have happened or why! You tell yourself its okay but once a true friend hurts you, your filled with doubt; causing you to no longer respect or trust them, losing the friendship you once cherished. Nothing justifies saying or doing anything to hurt a friend and lose their trust. We don’t embarrass or treat a friend in a way we wouldn’t want to be treated. There isn’t anything worth losing a friend over! Debbie Knapp 10/7/2019
