Life can leave you blinded at times, so I'm trying to appreciate what I can vision 
I've got a few good people in my life, but I've got some that are missing 
Why do we wait for someone to die before their flowers are given? 
This is me giving flowers to the living 

It's been a tough week as a good friend passed
So I want to appreciate people on my journey with me, because I'm not at the end of the map
I'll admit that I've shed tears over people that I used to laugh with
I appreciate all of my exes, even if there isn't one I want to get back with

Mum, I grew up in foster care because you and dad couldn't put the drink down
Sitting in my room, you and dad were pretty much all I would think about 
I held a lot of resentment for a long time, but I learned to let it go
It took over 20 years for us to have a relationship, but I'm thankful for you, just so you know

Meg, I'm unsure why we're no longer speaking, and it hurts every day
But you're a great girl and I hope you know I'm always just a message away
Gaz, you were my best friend, we had many laughs, but sometimes in life we get busy and part
But I'll always have your back, and we need to go for a drink soon at the bar

Rebecca, I've wrote a few poems about you already, so I won't make this long
I've always admired your ability to remain calm and stay strong 
Mick, I'm thankful for your friendship, thank you for being there
But we tell each other every time we have a drink and say cheers

Mina, there's so much I could say about you, but I'll keep it short and sweet 
You're without a doubt the strongest person I've had the chance to meet
Sometimes I'm taken aback by the way you manage to carry on 
My love and admiration for you will never be gone 

Dayle, you're my brother from another mother, but you're 24 and have never watched Mrs Doubtfire 
That needs to change, but it doesn't change the fact that you've overcome a lot and are a fighter
Even though I don't know you, thank you Eminem for being the biggest inspiration in my life
All I ever had was your music to inspire me when I was in foster care and didn't have my parents to kiss me goodnight 

If you love someone let them know because you never know when they could leave
Tomorrow isn't promised, so if someone needs your help, don't watch them bleed
Don't wait for someone to die for their flowers to be given 
Unspoken words will haunt you, so give your flowers to the living
