Poem
Dear Santa It's been a year since I last wrote to you Meanwhile, Time, so like a river flow, Went on its way, Pulling me and my raft along with it Causing me to enjoy my ride at times And nearly drowning me in its currents At others! Dear Santa, It's again that time when I can dare To open my mouth And ask you For gifts, as I have been good, and obedient, And abiding to the ways of life, To the will of God and even to that Of the meaningless society! Dear Santa, I've stopped believing in the unnecessary Like all the rest that fills up life in the Earthly realm It all comes down to having no purpose Seeking solely to cause me pain, And gloom! Dear Santa, This year, I ask for abilities; maybe even superhuman ones! I shall use these To heal this world into which I have been thrust in, This world which had probably seemed to be a haven When looked from the real heavens But being, In the very end, hell, in its real sense! I wish to heal the people living here, They suffer from poverty, from disease, from confusion From hunger, from exploitation, from pollution, And face the threat of seeing their habitat Being destroyed! Dear Santa, Making of me a religious guru won't be enough, Making of me a politician won't be enough, Neither would be making me a social worker Nor would it work in making me a democratic denouncer! The only way to heal this world Is to be made of magic, Why, To be made of divine particles Hidden subtly in between the folds of my essence, Particles which I would use To bring comfort to all those suffering! See, suffering takes all forms here Some lament materially, some lament physically, Some emotionally and some have no choice at all, As they are blinded in their own existence! Feelings, attachment, love and emotions Are of no use here As either they are not taken into consideration Or they are treated as malevolent So much that now I am repulsed At the mere thought of these! Dear Santa, I've been enough of a burden Weighing heavily upon this Earth, Now, all I seek is to help it bloom and breathe Into a realm which shall feel grateful for existing So that the many lives treading upon it Will also rejoice at their own existence! Dear Santa, I shall wait for your generosity, I shall place some water, and some biscuits For you to enjoy on the night of Christmas eve, Pray, Heed me, As my intentions are genuine! 1st Dec 2019 Writing Challenge- December, 2019 - I Want Christmas Poems Sponsor, Dear Heart - Wiishkobi Ode
