Poem
they dug deep trenches in the forest cut down large trees to cover these trenches they made rooms and covered the logs with clay and piled dirt atop, and used leaves to make it appear as if they were walking on solid ground. they made a chimney deeper in the woods to allow the smoke from campfires to escape the top of the underground fortress for months and months they lived in the forest they found the underground to be comfortable in winter and in summer it allowed them to study the doings of the Romans and they often blended into the crowds when festival occured. saying they were from the north country or were children of the savages that lived in the wintery woods they even said they were vikings there to appease Caesar the woman of the village cooked foods regularly and the people from the underground would use ingredients from Naples and Florence to feed their troops they ate Faros, Italian couscous and noodles and tomato sauces from the cities and thought they were wise and clever as they sent messages to the armies of the Nomads. they never thought they'd be caught since they had been there so long. for ten years they lived in these types of living spaces. Until one day a man named Zois walked into the woods and spoke loudly saying a Roman fleet was enroute to them they had been discovered seven years earlier it would be wise to leave before the Roman horse bought their chariots and soldiers to the area. and then....................... tune in tomorrow for the conclusion to Beyond Caesar!
