God brought me through the storm
He kept me feeling reassured and adored
He didn’t let me go when I was afraid
He filled my heart with joy that He gave

God kept me from making a bad mistake
He sent me a word of promise from a friend
Allowed me to remember the time before
When I’d made the same mistake in judgement

God reassured my heart when it was breaking
Letting me know that I’d find a way to make it
Through all the worst worries and anxieties
Into a place of sweet love and calmest serenity

God gave me His word to keep me moving forward
Into the heart of hope and faith, His amazing grace
He never lets me linger amid the depression and despair
Always helps me find my way to a song somehow

God reaches out to me with His kindness and gentleness
Sends a light for me in the sunshine and moon’s beam
Welcoming me to praise and worship whenever I please
With a sense of truth and joy that He inspires within

God enlightens me with answers to all my prayers
Strengthens me when I feel the weakest I’ve been
Accepts me when I feel like I’ve lost my best friend
And reminds me that I am His, a child of the One I love

God lives within me, through His Holy Spirit’s fire
Sends me a sense of true wisdom and hope that’s alive
Guides me past the pain into the heart of compassion
Encourages me to reach for my dreams with His direction

God knows me, much better than I know my own self
He cheers my weakening heart when I’m so low down
He supports my abused spirit when I can’t figure out how
And whispers pleasure into my soul when I’m lonely or sad
