When November has drifted away,
the wind will whisper in the bare branches;
and soon delicate snowflakes will be flying,
on the homes and deep, deep in the forest.

That is where the ice fairy is sleeping,
she is waiting for that special magic moment;
when winter's fingers touch her heart to wake her,
and then she will unfurl her beautiful twinkling wings.

And flying and gliding  through the forest and beyond,
she will touch all the bare trees and all she finds;
with a wonderful glittering magical dust of white snow,
until everything is covered with a lovely dusting.

On the coldest days she will spread her fairy wings
and drop her twinkling sprinkles of ice and white;
then, when the temperature warms up in spring,
she will melt . . .  until next year.
