Poem
"Soul Surfer" I bought some sea shell beads today, stood by the ocean while the half sharp winter wind washed through me and whispered stinging sticatto cold licks next to my ear, so sincerely - that spot, you know that spot you know where, where warm breath should imprint fast, hard and so hot, the sharp winter wind caresses that spot all too urgently entices, whispers, "stay with me, or move away...your choice". I stayed, I listened while the sharp winter wind toyed with me, washed perilously close all around me, but not through me; that half sharp Winter wind, it beckoned, wrapped its ethereal sinuous arms around me and whispered ever so superlunary, "Come unto me, next chapter my dear! which way to steer? Stay moored? Or push off through it all, harbour's not the place to live life after all. Push out and away cut through all of the shallows - cut straight out through the deep, past the shark nets and fat furry seals that do bellow, where monsters with sharp teeth glide insolently next to you, all the while beckoning, go deeper go deep diving for pearls, you oblige and dive deep. There was an Ancient Mariner...she remembered and an albatross soaring so high a good omen in the minds of brilliant enlightenment dodging harpoons of the ignorant while she twirled and pirouetted with St Elmo's Fire; and all the while a Phoenix rose burning from a funeral pyre, trilling, "Onward and upward I'll move closer to thee". And onward and upward she rose higher and higher so close to the sun it was mortally dire but the Sun was warmer than the sharp winter wind, that grew colder and deadlier, drunk on flippant transparent whims; that was the mirror she did not want to enfold, she determined stronger and stronger she would kiss the Sun before she grew ancient and the Moon became bolder, bold enough to shine moonbeams on her battered body bathed in light she was Gold, Golder than Light and he was the Night dark indigo velvet draping his body around her swift flight. At some point the Moon Kisses the Sun, like two souls searching the other side of a mirror hand to mirror hand to mirror closer but never, not nearer. The Moon Kisses the Sun in the ocean's reflection when day is all done; Never so clearer.
