Our 2008 Thanksgiving Letter to a Friend Missing for twenty five years Last night our pastor asked everyone who would (or could) to stand and tell of the things we were thankful for as we lead into Thanksgiving. I didn’t stand but it caused me to think of the happenings this year in my life. The thing that I’m most thankful for they probably would have had a hard Time understanding anyway; I’m thankful that I have a Christian home and a Savior who loved me long before I loved him; I have a wife who has tolerated all my idiosyncrasies throughout our married life and still loves Me. ( is she good or what?) I am thankful for our health and all God’s Blessings, which often, I’m prone to take for granted. I feel there is no greater thing in life than to be loved and share my love with others; One Thing I’m giving special thanks for this year is that when God put our Names in your heart and mind, you responded and sought us out giving us your love unconditionally; The most important part of any journey is that first step; Thank God you took that step; I wish I could tell you just how important that has been but I’m afraid all it would amount to would be a very long hug and a wet shoulder. (I’m sorry for that) anyway, I believe you already know that I feel like a long lost adopted uncle that You didn’t know you had. Ha Ha you have made this year one I’ll always remember. I’m also thankful that you live close to your family and have no fences breached with any of your family. Oh yes, I’m also thankful for Starbucks and a fine man called Ricky. I just about bubble over when he talks of how much he loves you and what you mean to him. God bless you both. I pray that you both always feel this way. I’ve finished with the book project I was working on and keep picking up Pecans as the wind blows them off. We have about seven gallons from the Patio tree so far. Wishing you both the best Thanksgiving ever and that you remember us When you pray. We love you both, Thanks
