Poem
III. They wore skimpy clothing, like any whore, and three of them Sol had not seen before, but the tall leader with red hair and eyes had once before been a thorn in Sol’s side. “Why if it’s not Sonya, vampire pure-bred, who, like her father, I should have made dead.” Sonya just smiled,”Sol, it’s been too long, I see that you have met my newest throng. “And I heard your words, I do like to play, so let’s step outside and solve this ‘your way.’” Sol unlocked the door, and went to the street, said Sonya,”Good. Our prey will see you beat. “And then I think I’ll have myself a feed, then I suppose we’ll find new towns to bleed.” It was clear that she thought naught of his skill, she was faster, strong, and built for the kill… Sol pulled one of the stakes strapped to his thigh, loaded in barrel-first, raised gun to eye, Sonya just laughed,”You think I’m that slow?” Then leapt right for him, so fast did she go! But Sol remained still, just holding his stance, he counter on her overconfidence, her lips drew back, her fang long and sick, but she didn’t known about the garlic… Like the fiend before, the smell hit her hard, while she screamed Sol aimed straight for her heart. the shot struck deep, pierced right through her breast, it’s point ripping clear through her whole chest. She fell back roaring, Sol stepped on her throat, put a stake in her heart, did not stop to gloat. Sonya then lay still, eyes lost their rear gleam, then all the others let out a loud scream. Townfolk came forth to look upon their kin, Sol said,”Stay back, let them be cleansed of sin, long moments of pain to kill the fell curse, be thankful because I have seen much worse.” The turned cried out, their skin regained its tone, eyes clear to colors much better known, then confused looks came from those souls saved, as if they’d awoken from a great haze… Then came the great profusion of tears from those who once more had their loved ones near, and more as the saved realized what they’d done, the people they’d slain, the daughters and sons… The pain of it all would not pass in a blink, so Sol walked back in, looking for a drink. Only the hookers were waiting in there, alone in their grief, faces in despair. And the aftermath was always the same, two weeks to rest before a new task came, Sol spent most of it with those whores, in bed, their way of thanking him, the madame said... CONCLUDES IN PART IV
