Poem
While the dislodged pain flows on tear I stand in the raging river, dragging sands of grief in wafer that seems to not lie still ever, raked from river bed like sliver of broken heart when it quivers. Shards of your ache I discover in crumbled wings of bird that you’re, the silent moan in air I hear, its nest wrecked by storm surge severe. In the desert wind blowing dry on your pallid face I descry mist of sorrow clouding your eye. Though with frozen feeling you’d try so hard, but you couldn’t stop to cry. As dark clouds start to liquefy like the thunder struck stormy sky, your chilled eyes melt, you don’t know why, it forms river that flows me by, for me to swim or drown to die. I float on gloomy river’s flow, flooding the banks of your sorrow. Its source in your heart I follow, destination I’d never know, for it doesn’t fill my chest hollow. Up in silk sky my hands I throw, I could touch my designed rainbow, but across the submerged plateau I couldn’t reach you, hold your hands though you drench my lone dry land fallow. In lush garden I make for me luster of joy drips from the tree, while in unfurled flowers I see nectar sucked by longing called bee. We walk flushed path of fantasy, draped in the scent of ecstasy. Flood of strife comes in night stormy, dreams woven in mind’s tapestry break to lie in heap of debris, in the surge I float away free. See your caving banks disappear, nothing is left then to endear. Let river return to your eye, lost dreams fly back as butterfly to my garden in sunrise glow, and at dawn start life’s nascent show. As clouds of torment drift and flee breeze whispers bygone memory. In spring love will bloom in your heart, like dew it’ll shine when I depart. (As per the original requirement I have used 8 syllables in each line, checked on howmanysyllables.com) October 28, 2019 Contest : LUDix-Rym Sponsor : Lu Loo
