Poem
It is that time of season And for some reason They set out to hunt the dove Without even the need for murderous glove The doves are called mourning And without warning They will die From some armed guy But there was this one critter Who was not bitter? Knowing he was a flying rebel he broke away from the northern pack Having a sense there was going to be an attack. Being a little ticked Due to these human hicks In a hurry He found sanctuary in the library. Taking a look At this one book He came across the point that a dove Was a sign of peace and love That was very interesting fact And worth knowing before getting attacked So the young dove took the education And decided to use it as protection Venturing back into the wilderness He wanted those with the guns to confess Watching those from above He waited for those who wanted to kill a dove Here came one Who was doing this for fun? Wearing an orange vest The little dove wanted this one to confess. So with so much at stake He flew over to peace make. At the top of his lungs he screamed “Why are you so mean?!!” Quickly he saw the killer was a teen Landing with feet firmly on the ground He took a stance before going down. “Why do you want to kill us? “ “We do not make a fuss!!” Putting his weapon down the child did explain The purpose behind this deadly game. “There is too many of you since all you do is multiply two by two” Taking a step back the dove Found out about what happens after peace and love. “That is the life’s will and we are not here for you to kill.” Hearing the bird the young boy put down his toy. “I am not being coy dove but listening to you brought some nice joy.” Taking the ammunition out The dove knew what he was talking about With the rifle unloaded he asked the bird how it was going. Well the dove replied there was a couple girls in the pack who did not die in the attack? I am going to go back to them with my words of peace And hoping they are not deceased I will select one dove To fall in love Not two or three Only one to be with me “So why don’t you fly away my friend,” the boy said And be happy you’re not dead. When he arrived at home the first place he went was the phone. “Are you alone” “Yes,” she replied excited he did not die. “Let’s meet so we can cuddle and be sweet,” And when it was dark in some pieces of bark The doves were filled with peace and love And were blessed from the power from above Who knows the true reason for the dove.
