(The Labyrinth of Time)


The heart searches through a labyrinth of time
Jagged rocks greet bloodied feet, walking into choppy sea --
Trying so hard to remember when days were more kind
A feel of nothingness greets with brief reprieve….

From the hellish nightmare, as the death bells chime;
A watery grave awaits for she perhaps, but not for me…
Still moving through this labyrinth of time -- shan’t lose the mind,
Lost him to the pipe and the rock, tried but could not revive he…

That life once believed from grace was felled, not so fast time tell!
Did he remember when days were more kind, often wondered did he cry? 
Still made it through the Cinderella syndrome, and now freed
From the harsh afflictions placed on once small shoulders

Shot down by harsh words of mother, for sins of father, cursed 
Sister’s sinister sneers, then greet with smiling face 
a falser love was never embraced 
Brothers yelled shoot, while the other glocked and Boom a damnable shot!

An innocence life if not for grace could have been lost, 
Still moving through the labyrinth so much has happened -- yet, no time to cry
Learned not to fear ~ for that which should have made one weak
Indeed made this one stronger -- nothingness greets with brief reprieve…

A sigh is heaved, must move on through the labyrinth of the mind…
The heart once in search of brighter days now in clarity freed 
Of those days unkind -- for, time tells with grace that precious life is filled…
