Poem

It's not that I'm so special,
Accomplished some great feat;
I haven't done a single thing,
To win a gift so great.

I gave up no riches,
Hold no position grand,
I wield no special power,
When I enter no one stands.

I am but a simple soul,
I hold no claim to fame.
I work hard for my living,
No great fortune can I claim;

And yet I have my every need,
Attended to with care;
Have home and health, enough to eat,
He's numbered all my hairs.

I live care free in safety,
While all the world's at war.
I am at peace within His keep,
His love and care endures,

All that I have ever done,
For I deserve Him not.
He loves me and protects me,
Just as He did for Lot.

Though all may fall about me,
He'll protect me through it all,
If I will serve Him faithfully,
Until His trumpet's call.

It's not because of who I am,
Or what I claim to be,
It's not because of what I own,
But because of Who Owns Me.
