RHYMES FOR SHARED TIMES

Maintain shared possessions - clean, tidy and in working CONDITION
Share responsibilities, or allocate them in a fair and balanced PARTITION

Keep your promises and earn TRUST
Be as truthful as possible and do not tell lies, at least avoid those that are harmful or destructive,  IF YOU MUST

Try to do your BEST
Recognize that the other may also be trying , even if theirs is not as good in vying with yours, nor ALL THE REST

When the other one fails, you do not have to ignore it; but temper your rebuke or REPROVAL
 - According to the gravity of the fault and the intentions of the wrongdoer, IF YOU WISH FOR ITS REMOVAL

Treat each other with respect. Do not use persistently abusive WORDING. 
And do not shout and swear for a long, nor use or threaten to use force more suited to CATTLE HERDING

Respect the other's beliefs. With both willing, it may be alright to discuss the rights and wrongs of their SELECTION
But it is tricky, and deep seated beliefs may not be a matter for DISSECTION

Recognise the right to an opinion. An opinion is just that, and mostly it isn't absolutely right nor UNTRUE 
“This music is awful” or “is awesome " Neither one  of these assertions  make sense unless you add: "To me" or "TO YOU”
Nevertheless statements of fact may be of valid or invalid HUE

In disagreement, stay with the subject; do not bring in old, unrelated failures and matters of DISPUTE
 - where the only connection is that it is something else that you consider the other party did, that you choose again to  REFUTE

Argue, don't FIGHT
If you wish to bring LIGHT

Discuss the subject; don't attack the PERSON. 
Use facts and reason or the relationship may WORSEN

Aim at truth, not winning the debate; unless that is the agreed purpose to exercise the LEFT BRAIN
If a valid point is made, acknowledge it; don't immediately change the subject then come back later to the same point ALL OVER AGAIN

Don't be afraid to be wrong on one point, thus NOT THE WINNER
 It doesn't mean that you are wrong about the main argument, nor about everything, nor are you an IRREDEEMABLE  SINNER

Acknowledge and apologize for the above or failures THEREON
When an apology is made, accept it, don’t relish the blame but MOVE ON

Penitence may be considered insincere by one party; but one can never know exactly what is in the mind of the SPEAKER
This may be resolved by having the contrition repeated without obvious flippancy or  shrugs; then considering it honest by a TRUTH SEAKER

Still the penitent should allow time for recovery of your UPSET FRIEND
Don't expect it all to be immediately fine just because you have said 'sorry'; and you may need to make AMEND.

All faults are not equally serious; bear this in mind when judging  remorse or INFRACTION
Accept that it may take time to get over an upset, and show understanding and compassion. The heat of the moment and the degree of upset should allow some emotional REACTION

Do not tell the other party what he/she  is THINKING
Only he/she really knows, and they may not be entirely sure, but  nobody else has more than an INKLING

When one partner confesses a fault, failure, misdemeanor or crime, and with regret they TESTIFY
Realize that this confession may take candor and courage QUITE HIGH

 Do not use the information given to punish a 'sinner' who eats HUMBLE PIE
 Few would confess to a crime if they thought the confession would lead to their being shot; in fact most would LIE

Avoid and suspect words like 'always, never', or 'everybody'. They are seldom VALID.
Lest you find yourself in an intellectual  desert ARID

The world is not black and white, nor is human nature; both have colours and tones of difference. Changing from black to white goes through shades of grey, no matter the GRIME
 Improvement is made little by little.  Perfection is desirable and to be aimed at; it may one day be achieved; it may take TIME
