"The Recalcitrant Romantico Sends a Love Note to the World" There was a loophole in the contract in fine print, when the final page was rolled back, a sharp paper cut bled a firebrand’s life and a swollen ego was fed, she raised her eyebrows in disbelief as the contractual terms were read In hushed tone, she whispered what the small print said, “Double Jeopardy, no Life is given a sentence here. Should your lessons not be learnt upon death, You shall come back to do it all over again your memory starts from neutral, revved through 5 gears, each a singular dimension with uber cred’, however, one draw back - you will awaken... a perpetual Dark Light Soul swimming in another body’s messed-up bed." “bugger that,” she said, She put her foot to the floor wrapped her warm fingers around the gear stick moved it up as far as it would go, the engines never once stalled Fortune tellers said the lines on her palms were hot, she thought of this, while Silver Lady’s burning wheels lit the Road up She let go of delusions, like waiting for Godot With her hellfire heart smoking there was nowhere else to go Our Recalcitrant Romantico held the unsigned contract out the window let the wind rip it from her fingers to send a love note rising on the crest of a risque blue sky breeze falling in cinders now like wedding confetti in a cotton candy cloud imprints of ash carried in a sentence to the world, “Pop Goes the Weasel,” She said, Special code like braille for the blind “Sometimes losing is winning”, Her heart spoke and for once she heard and understood the story’s rich plot Wheels burning and spinning, the Great Get Away from Groundhog Day, that was her lot Foot to the pedal, turning it up a gear feeling no fear in the No Go Zone She took her right hand off the wheel and placing it outside Silver Lady’s window she gave the world the bird, ‘cause she was that kinda girl Releasing its fresh message like a White Dove to Blue Sky waiting above, Moving the gear up another level, she focused straight ahead the Light was hypnotic, bright, Her wheels burned while her brain bled her direction remained steadfast all through the long days and Dark Night On the Road to Loon Junction where all the gangsters were free birds there was no purgatory no detours Freedom never tasted so sweet five burning gears on a ride all alone The road sign ahead clearly read “ALL ROADS LEAD HOME” “LOVE WAITS WITH ARMS OPEN WIDE, A WARM BED AND BLUE SKY” (LadyLabyrinth/2019) “Rather Be”, The Verve https://youtu.be/maQmFa50akY "There's no evil introductions No dark corridors of fame You won't find your fortune You might find some pain..." “Check the Meaning” Album: The Human Condition/Richard Ashcroft https://youtu.be/JD71CDao4I0 Lyrics: "Rather Be Here", The Verve https://geniuslyrics.net/the-verve/rather-be/ Lyrics: "Check the Meaning", The Human Condition/Richard Ashcroft https://genius.com/Richard-ashcroft-check-the-meaning-lyrics
