Poem
If memory serves me right it was one year before he died .Before he was killed that I last saw him with my eye. From kindergarten (he was in first grade, nine months older than I was) Though we were both born a mother's We were of different nationality colors We were next-door neighbors he was my friend he was more to me, he was my brother And yet tragically while on vacation coming from the West Coast. Through Arizona to his birth town of Omaha NEBRASKA. He and his his wife his high school sweetheart And their two-year-old son and their 16 year old niece Were tragically murdered by the escaped prisoner Tison. All shot at point-blank range left there to die. I never had a chance to say bye. You see I never told my brother that I love him. So you see the Tison father and his three sons and Tison cellmate all escaped. And when on rampage killing spree. Arizona Prison in August 1978 Killing people for their cars the vehicles As the Bible teaches forgiveness I must forgive those that murdered my family for you see. I have no Heaven or Hell to put anyone. Help them, Help us Lord. For mercy and mercy sake help us all . Lord till the day breaks It's been 41 years now since the death the murders Of the Lions family. And you will know the ironic thing is the nieces name is the same last name of her murderers No relations who knows??? God does her last name was Tyson not the same spelling but same sounding don't know if we're related again while knows who knows. The Tison father was almost captured he got away but alsodisoriented And died in the desert one of the sons is dead. In the police roadblock. While the cell mate in the two other brothers all three are now behind bars . To this day still in the pen. But life it's a shame I never got to tell my brother I love him Believe it or not we only have one verbal / physical fight And it would be a grade of "A". I would say We were okay He was my brother and I love him Not boasting nor bragging we were the model for race relations. Me being African-American While he was Caucasian Oriental. If blending could be God cares not About our colors he only cares about our souls And with that we should all remember There is only two ways Which way we can go Only two places Heaven or Hell I have I have no judgement I have no spells. All did I say that I mentioned that I have forgiven the Tison father and three brothers and the cell mate for murdering my brother and his family help us all Lord This is a dedicated verse for John Francis Lyons Born July twenty-three 1954 died August 1st 1978 Dedicated verse to wife Donna Chadwick Lyons Born September 25th 1954 died August 6th 1978 Dedicated verse for Christopher Lyons Toddler boy born August 23rd 1976 died August 6th 1978 Dedicated to 16 year old Niece Teresa Jo Tyson Born October 16th 1962 died August 6th 1978 Pray for me, I never told my brother I love him On this day September 9th 2019 I visited the grave sites of the Lyons Family Plot Consisting of the Grand mother Johanna Lyons Siri which was 9 days from being a hundred years old Uncle Francis E Lyons the Nephew John Francis Lyons his wife Donna Lyons the niece Teresa Joy Tyson and baby who was entombed in the coffin with the mother Christopher Lyons My only prayer, my only wish is that you love your brother Those whom are spiritual and those who mock physical love your brother and maybe you'll see them all again in heaven 9/9/19 Written by James Edward Lee Sr 2019
